JULIO FLOREZ - Associate Broker

I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia where I graduated from the General Santander National Police College in 1991. In 1992 I was appointed as a Deputy District Commander with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Cambodia, where I served with distinction. I immigrated to Canada in 1994 to be with my Canadian wife and to start a family.

I have been a resident of Fort McMurray for over 21 years where I have experienced the community in many facets: as a new comer, a student at Keyano College and as an employee with big local employers such as Suncor and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. A continuing thirst for knowledge saw me earn my Real Estate license in 2005, and my Associate Broker license in 2012. My work ethic, commitment to outstanding customer service and constant learning allowed me to rise quickly in the real estate industry, ranking year after year as one of the top 1% of REALTORS® in Canada with Royal LePage.

I was a Director on the Fort McMurray Real Estate Board from 2008-2013 and am currently in my forth year as a Director of the Alberta Real Estate Association, where I work in collaboration on provincial wide mandates for the industry. As of April 2016, I also serve of the Northern Lights Health Foundation Board of Directors. I have offered both my time and financial support to sponsor a wide range of non-profit and charitable organizations, young athletes, musicians and the Arts. I was recognized by Keyano College in 2013 on their Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame for my commitment to continuing Education and community involvement.
